29 Random Things About Me

29 Random Things About Me aka Location to the Batcave

29.  I have 1 sister.  She is about two years younger than I am.

28.  I work full time for a CPA firm, but I'm not a CPA nor an accountant.

27.  I travel quite often for work.  The farthest trip that I've ever gone for my job has been to Hawaii.

26.  I enjoy helping people.  I constantly give advice, listen to problems, and help people with ideas.  In high school, I considered becoming a psychologist.  I went to school for international business instead.

25.  My favorite tools for procrastination are Pinterest, helping others so much that I don't focus on the things that I need to do, Facebook, and reading.

24.  I have an event that I do every Friday called Jazz Hands Friday.  You have to put your hands in the air and wiggle your fingers.  You should come join the party on the FB page or on Twitter.  Swing through and give us a twirl!

23.
When I was younger, I wanted to be a lawyer.  I even dressed up as a lawyer for Halloween.  Don't judge me!

22.
I love all kinds of music.  What's on heavy rotation right now:  Kendrick LamarBonoboPhoenixForeign Exchange, and Blackbird Blackbird.

21.  My realistic dream car is a Lexus hybrid.  My midlife crisis / just hit the lottery car is an Aston Martin DB9 or a Maserati Quattroporte.

20.  I love to travel.  I often find myself traveling solo.  My first solo trip was to Montréal, Québec.  Every year since then, I try to take a solo trip some place that I haven't seen before.  The farthest trip I've visited solo was Paris, France.

19.  My top 10 places that I woud like to visit are (in no particular order):  Nigeria, Dubai, Argentina, Egypt, Thailand, Bali, Cuba, New Zealand, Prague, and Ecuador (where I'm looking at retiring)

18.  I own over 2000 CDs.  Maybe I was a DJ in a former life.

17.
I love cars.  I'm not a total gearhead, but I enjoy watching Top Gear on BBC.  Jeremy is my sugar daddy.  He picked me up in a stretch limo once.  The red one.    It didn't go very well.

16.  I enjoy cleaning with natural products.  I found out that I could clean things with peroxide and baking soda from Pinterest.  The inside of my refrigerator has never been whiter.  (more on this later)  I know.  Random, right??

15.
I'm an avid reader.  I enjoy fiction, self-help, romance, and business and entrepreneurship.  My absolute favorite author is Sidney Sheldon.  I've read all of his books, but I especially live for If Tomorrow Comes.

14.  Writing is my destiny.  I've been writing stories and poems since I was in elementary school.  I've been very critical of my work and a bit shy about putting it out there until a few years ago when I started this blog.

13.  I am a total money magnet.  I find money on the street all the time. The most money that I've ever found on the street was either $50 or $100.

12.  One of my goals is to visit every state.  I consider a state "visited" when I buy a postcard there.  I have 12 states left to go: Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, Arkansas, Michigan, West Virginia, Connecticut, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.

11.
I took a half hour Pilates class once.  I nearly died.  I'm surprised that I was able to get up off of the floor.  It looks so easy!  That's how they get you.

10.  At some point, I plan to start my own book publishing empire.  I've already written 3 books.

9.  I've had 3 cats in my lifetime: Shalimar, Bella, and Chessie. Shalimar died in a fire, and Bella died of health complications.  I have a new cat, Chessie, who was a stray that hissed her way into my life and heart.

8.  I used to suffer from chronic migraines.  Through acupuncture, I have severely decreased how often I get them and their severity.  I've found additional relief in Excedrine Migraine and Grade A Peppermint Oil, (when I remember to use it).

7.  I paid for a week long trip to Barbados in change.  Seriously.  Nickels and dimes, Playboy.  Oh, and the other change too, of course.  :p  I saved change in a water cooler bottle and had to make 3 trips to Commerce Bank (now TD Bank) to cash it all in.  It was my present to myself when I graduated college.

6. I'm a total daredevil.  I intend to skydive, bungy jump, ride crazy roller coasters, and take a driving course where I'll learn drifts, donuts, (but with back tires), and powerslides.

5.  I am not a coffee drinker.  I'm naturally high strung, so it would be bad for everyone if I drank coffee.  I do drink tea, though.  My favorite is Twinnings Earl Grey and Lady Grey.

4.  My favorite food is Vietnamese.   I first tried it while doing a vegan diet in San Francisco a few years ago.  I fell in love with the freshness of the vegetables and how all of the flavors come together in their food.    Yummy!!

3.  I don't eat beef or pork.  I used to eat both quite a bit.  I really did love how they tasted, but I didn't like how my body felt after I ate it.  I haven't eaten either in over 10 years.  I do eat poultry ( but would like to cut back) and fish.  I also eat goat once or twice a year.  It's my guilty pleasure.

2.  I used to be able to draw really well.  I would cut out pictures from fashion magazines and draw them in my spare time.  In 5th grade, one of my art projects was selected as an honorable mention in one of their contests.  My Godmom framed it and gave it to my mom as a gift.  Once I die, it will be worth a fortune.  :p

LAST ONE!

1.  I played cello for one year.  I really enjoyed it, but my music instructor was scary.  He wasn't very nice and had little patience with me, so I quit.  I taught myself how to play a few simple songs on guitar and on my Godmom's piano.  My sister and I could play the hell out of Oprah's old theme song.   Ok, maybe not quite like that.

ONE FOR THE ROAD!

1.  The other night I had a dream that Tim Ferriss, (author of 4 Hour Work Week, 4 Hour Body, and 4 Hour Chef), came over and slept at my house.  He gave me awesome tips on how to be more productive.  Of course, I forgot them when I woke up.  Damn it!

Thanks for reading!!
